About the Photographer Hello my name is Christopher StandingBear, and I am the Nature Photographer behind the captures you see on this site, and the Bearfoot Healing website. My adventure as a Nature Photographer is the result of my love & respect for art and nature. As a child I had a point and shoot camera that I continued to use for several years, but when the digital platform came out I really became more interested. It became my goal to buy a digital camera with manual capabilities and learn to use it. The pictures in my online portfolio, as well as the "Words of Wisdom" creations on the Bearfoot Healing web site are a small part of this adventure. One of the greatest advantages to being a Nature Photographer is the excitement I feel as I connect with the natural world. It is a powerful spiritual experience for me knowing that all I am seeing & touching, plays an important role in our lives. Without the snow on the mountains, and the rainfall, there wouldn't be any waterfalls. Without the creeks, and rivers that are fed by the waterfalls, we wouldn't have water flowing into the lakes or any of the oceans. Without the lakes and oceans, there wouldn't be any place for water life to live. It is in fact the bodies of water that allow for evaporation so that we can have rain & snow to water the land and all of earths inhabitants. Such is the cycle of life. I am often awed by the journey, as well as by the beauty of my subject. I have come across some breath taking & unexpected sights in my adventures. I am so deeply grateful to be able to capture what I see and share it with each of you. I tend to see the details in life, and some of my works are all about that. The details in the flowers, the clouds, the waterfalls, creeks, rivers, etc. I try to capture the stuff that not everyone takes the time to observe. One of the things that you will notice is that I don't remove anything from my photos in post capture. As well, I don't move or remove anything at the location in order to create a better or "perfect" picture. You get it how I saw it. I feel nature is as beautiful and perfect as can be. Why change that? Thank you for the opportunity to share with you! | |
